Dehydration is a common problem for many people and can actually cause similar feelings to feeling hungry. If you are looking to lose weight then make sure you are properly hydrated and if you feel hungry maybe have a drink first to check that you aren’t in fact just thirsty. Dehydration is also a stress on the body and can cause you to store fat around your middle. A great way to check if you are dehydrated is to check the colour of your urine – it should be pretty close to clear. If it is yellow or even getting darker than that then you are definitely dehydrated! Read More→

Club One Hundred from the Inside

I have been working at Club One Hundred in Leigh on Sea for 6 weeks now and loving my new experiences of working as a personal trainer. My Journey With Club Onehundred

Gill Castle – The Journey of a lifetime

I first met Gill 5 years ago as part of a combined department initiative at the gym us Club One Hundred boys used to work at. Someone came up with the idea of putting together a health package combining beauty therapies and Personal Training sessions and I went down and gave a talk to all the prospective participants. Gill signed up for this and apparently very much enjoyed the beauty side of the package. The hard part was me trying to convince her to meet me upstairs on the gym floor and partake in the training sessions she had paid for. Read More→

A Personal Trainer’s Weekly Menu

When our clients start working with us apart from hard training the next big challenge for them is changing their diet. This can often be quite tough for some as they have been told for many years by friends, family and more often the media that eating grains and starchy carbohydrates like wholegrain pasta or porridge is good for you. As many of you may know, here at Club One Hundred we recommend a diet high in lean proteins, fibrous carbohydrates (vegetables) and quality fats (nuts, avocados etc). Read More→
